TV Network Operations and Traffic Group
75% Database and 25% Systems mix of responsibilities
Location Silver Spring, MD - USA
Compensation $90,000 with exceptional benefits and other incentives
Duties
Management and overall support, including maintenance and upgrades, of Operations/Traffic database and the application environment, including:
Television Traffic System
Log Reconciliation System
Ad Sales Support
Library Management System
Ratings Research Systems
Create and Maintain documentation of Operations/Traffic systems
Design Custom Reports � Work with end users to scope and design reports and data exports from in-house systems
Ensure Data and System Interoperability � Work with users and outside vendors to facilitate data exports and exchanges
Implement, configure, and troubleshoot database instances, replication, backup, partitions, storage, and access.
Develop and maintain system monitoring to ensure the uptime, performance, interoperability and configuration of the overall database environment
Customize and extend off the shelf systems to increase utility, or provide new functionality
Assist with VPN tunnel connectivity between sites
Assist with Network and System Administration for Enterprise environment, including Support of Windows 2000/2003 server technology, including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, SQL Server, WSUS and Terminal Server in a multi-site environment
Special note for those with broadcasting experience:
Migrating to " Broadway " for traffic
" SIMS " is used for programming/scheduling.
" Nesbit " is used for library management
Migrating to " Grip-It " for Promo management.
Requirements
Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining MS SQL environments
Experience working with VMWare (ESX 4.0 preferred)
Strong SQL / scripting skills
This position is approximately 75% Database Administration and 25% Systems
Strong Active Directory and Windows Administration skills
Experience with Cisco Pix Firewalls and VPN configuration
Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with various levels of users
Must have strong problem solving skills and the ability to prioritize heavy workloads
Must have strong documentation and organizational skills as well as a keen eye for details
Must be articulate and able to communicate with both internal and external clientele
Experience designing and implementing Remote Access solutions
Proficiency in Windows client operating systems and Microsoft Office 2003 applications
