Very Nice....I'll be interested in the future updates of this control, as it it provides a nice new look and feel. Any chance of using the StrechBlt with these bitmaps to make the UserControl vertically resizable?....Keep up the great work....TerriTop

This is one of the best user controls I have seen on here in a while... although all the button controls are cool, this gives a whole new interface look and feel. 5 stars from me, look forward to testing the updated versions.

P.S. An align option for the control would be useful so you could expand the screen during development and the menu expands with it.

Okay,
this is really good, you need to work on the following: 1/know what tab was clicked by the user. 2/ add small icons to each group of thab. 3/ the form need to maximize when double click the tile. 4/ use imagelist for all the icons.
VERRY NICE A+

Nice. But to get 5 globes from me, you would have to make it possible to add a real menu with submenus (same look, of course) and a resizable form.

10/9/2006 9:33:26 PMTuanHai

Great & beautifull control.
Some questions to upgrage more:
- Using keyboard to navigate the menu: Alt + letters
- Double click on captionbar to maximize & restore form state
- Using property page to add & remove menu items
- Unicode support in near future

Many thanks

Looks excellent.

Maybe take a look at JCForms by Juan Carlos San to give you an idea on how to make this a full form control.

Please keep the updates coming.

Kind Regards
Gary

10/11/2006 11:48:45 PMim a beginner

I suggest you to make separate this Ribbon and the title bar.

I mean you should make that tab and container control in the tab a single control

and You make the window skinning control a separate one.
Because, leave the window's style as WINDOWS chooses

otherwise it will be very different when using custom themes ( msstyles files) and also
ugly when using the aero style.

Ribbon should be Ribbon and Window should be window.

Microsoft had made a different look as they always do on MP9 onwards and on
MSN Explrr and later on Live MSNGR and Live DeskMail

I again suggest you to forget about the skinning of Window and you go forward
with the Ribbon,

You have a great idea, and you have a good timing.
I think, you had spent whole time in front of that ribbon
I agree we all will take it as a challenge when we will see new ideas

Anyway thanks for your contribution

Nice GUI, but you forgot a very important thing, which is the Keyboard integration...

Your application doesn't respond to the keyboard at all, wether I press the arrow keys, tab key, enter key...

Hope you will fix this.

Nice GUI and thx for sharing. But the control needs a little more work. F.e. control is flickering too much on mouseover. My suggestion is to use integrated subbclassing from Paul. Allso if you do mouseover the overeffect still remaining painted, even mouse is out...
But for the code and idea, this is more worth then my 5 globes! Keep up the good work!

Regards Riccardo

Congratulations on a great piece of code. I know I'm late with my comment, but have just found it.
It's a great tool for keeping my VB6 apps looking up-to-date.
Some extra comments would be nice, but I have figured it all out, and will probably apply it to most of my existing apps!
Well Done, 5 Stars well deserved.
