     AJAX InstantEdit ASP version

As everybody knows, refreshing pages is so 1999.
AJAX, DOM, whatever you call it makes it possible to let people edit a piece of text inline without having to use a submit button. sweet!
Easy Ajax/ASP Inline Text Edit 2.0
originally developed by Yvo Schaap in PHP
but for those ASP guys.. I have converted the code.
have fun...
Ted Campos

step 1 - Upload as is (no changes)
step 2 - run default.asp
Step 3 - add ?admin=ok to the querystring to gain edit privledges
Step 4 - click on a field to edit
step 5 - say WOW ;)

1) once a change is made...thats it.. no undo! (good and bad of course)
2) If you add a link, BUT DONT ADD ANYTHING ELSE... you can never update that field again. Once you click to edit, it jumps to the href link instead of allowing you to edit. Tried to write a fix for it by automatically adding the target=_blank tag to any href, but the field still looses focus and no edit. The ONLY solution I could find was to add SOMETHING ELSE that is NOT A LINK to that same field. You can then click on that text to edit, thus allowing you to make a total change to the field.
